                                    pages  we are Mark&Junette Ashdown we  are owners of 5 dogue de Bordeaux’s, the

                                 dogues are henri, ruby, pebbles, tiger Lilly and the Baby is mowgli.

           We  live in London and Cebu city the republic of the Philippines. We have been

in love with this most magnificent breed of dogue for nearly 25 fives years after I bought a

few books in foyles bookshop in central London ,but at that stage there were no breeders in

England just pictures from old fighting dog books that originated from America.  My interest in

The ddbx wained for a number of years after buying a Staffordshire bull terrier from peter

Jepson at game stock kennels in Ripley surrey, Ben was a lovely Staffordshire no trouble

Whatsoever a gent and a soft gentle dog to all whom new him.  He died of cancer to the jaw 

At The ripe old age of 14 even up to his last days he was mobile and active .after owning Ben

this Cemented my love and passion for bull breed dogues and off I went again in my pursuits

to find out how to get a Bordeaux ,my luck was about to change when I found out there was a

Man in Kent who was breeding and showing Bordeaux’s after getting his phone number from

Another Bordeaux breeder in Wembley London who had no puppies or plans at that time to

Breed, but I was told there could be a chance of a male puppy from a man in Kent who had

just a had a litter of puppies so of I went to Locksbottom in Kent and this was my first viewing

of a Bordeaux the flesh and also puppies two very young pups that was it i had found what I

was looking for the holy grail of the canine race and at that time so rare that very few pictures

or literature excited of the dogue de Bordeaux ,only one picture in a book is what convinced 

me at that time that ill never own another breed of dog again. So off I went after putting a

deposit down on a male puppy called Belmond who later was to become  bailey ( Kenya

World cup fever) one week before I was due to collect the puppy from my new friends Alan

and Kerry Bates I, received some good news and bad news the good news was my wife

Junette was pregnant with our little girl Stevie Marie but the bad news was I had lost my job

and my employer had got bankrupt so I was not to be receiving any wages for the last 2

Months employment this spoilt disaster for me and my intentions of realizing my 15 year old

dream of owning a dogue be Bordeaux .Alan kept bailey and made him  a leading sire in the

uk siring many champions  and after many successful years in the uk was to spend his

last days with Wayne Stain forth ( kennel maison de leech ) in south Africa. I had to wait 7

years to get another chance of owning a dogue and this  time was to come from glen at

redgrits kennels in Oxfordshire central England after trying to track down again Alan and Kerry

bates who had moved away from the bromley area I took home my first dogue henri born to

kharma and sired by troy v,d bargfenne, we has a family were really hooked on this puppy all

the family would camp out over Victoria park every night just to be with our new baby and

puppy happy times indeed .next to come was  Brandouxs red ruby we had finally managed to

track down our old friends Alan and Kerry bates again, she was born to mia and sired by

Marco poloux, Ruby is the sweetest natured Bordeaux soft, loving and very stable but please

Don’t kick your football over the fence or let your cat venture into the garden because you will

never see either again .and when you play fetch the stick do be careful it’s not the leg of the

Fox, oh dear the smell was awful but she seemed to love it she was quivering with excitement

an her mouth was dripping with the flavor. It took us 1 hour to chase her to get that stinking

leg from her mouth .but that is ruby.

Next to come in partnership with Lisa my sister and her

Husband john was pebbles; she was bought from Dave and Lynn martin at crevellente kennels

in Southampton  pebbles was born to Catanya and sired by cross of Lorraine(mustard )a

Beautiful male bred by john and Lorraine large .pebbles is the alpha female she wants the

bone she gets the bone no question about it .shortly after pebbles went to Hertfordshire to

Live with my sister and her husband. I was aquatinted with Bernard and Mel Gerahty at 

Bugene kennels west Yorkshire this was to turn out a great friendship when I bought from

 then I picked of litter female who was to be called Bugene tiger Lilly this young bitch is truly a

World class female. Last to come was again from Crevillente kennels on the south coast this 

Was to be a fully booked litter sired by what is probably the most complete Bordeaux to date

Temple felson, I was told early on that I was to be given access to a male but not a female this

Was because Dave at crevellente see the future of his breeding coming from bitchies that

Would come from felson, so mowgli came home to London for a short time and later to be

Exported to our new home in Cebu City Philippines he is now a local celebrity and he is

Photographed 10 times every day by admirers mowgli is still only 11 months old but already is

Most awesome looking Bordeaux a real chip from the old
